Visual Art

Project Ability will be displaying a small selection of ‘Lockdown Postcards’ by a variety of artists across all three of our studio programmes. These were blank postcards Project Ability posted to each artist asking them to do a small drawing about their Lockdown experiences. The result was a wonderful insight into many of the artists lives at home, during the pandemic.

About Project Ability:

Established in 1984, Project Ability is a visual arts charity with an international reputation for excellence. They create opportunities for people with disabilities and people with lived experience of mental ill-health, aged 5 years to 80 plus, to express themselves and achieve their artistic potential.

In their centre at Trongate 103, they have a supported studio, a gallery and a shop. Over three hundred people each week take part in their year round programme of workshops and events which are held in their studio and in community venues throughout the city. They work in partnership with people with disabilities and their support agencies across the UK and develop local, national and international arts projects, creating opportunities for people to network, share their art practice and exhibit their work. In their gallery they have a year round exhibition programme which professionally showcases much of the works made in their studios. Their shop stocks a unique range of products made by the artists working in their studios.
